OctoPOS · Sold & Supported Locally

The POS built for grocery, markets & corner stores

Grocery and market checkouts aren't like other retail — weighed produce, EBT and WIC, bottle deposits, tight margins, and a line that can't wait. OctoPOS was built by a store operator for exactly that. We deploy, configure, and train it in person, with a local Tampa Bay team.

Why We Recommend OctoPOS for Grocery

A regular register chokes on a grocery line. OctoPOS doesn't.

Most POS systems were built for a boutique or a coffee shop and then stretched to fit a market. The seams show fast: no real scale support, clumsy EBT, no deposit handling, and inventory that tracks price but not cost.

OctoPOS came from the other direction. It was built by an operator who ran three stores for a decade — so weighed produce, mixed tender, DSD receiving, and margin tracking are the core of the system, not add-ons.

That's why it's our pick for grocery and markets. And because we set it up and support it locally, you get the purpose-built software and a hands-on Tampa Bay team behind it — priced transparently, with no contract lock-in.

Weighed items & mixed tender, handled
Scale-priced produce and split EBT/WIC/card orders are built in, not bolted on.
Inventory that tracks cost, not just price
Real-time margins, auto-reorder, and price-increase alerts protect thin grocery margins.

OctoPOS Questions

What store owners ask before switching to OctoPOS

What kind of businesses is OctoPOS best for?
Grocery stores, corner stores and bodegas, meat markets and carnicerías, and liquor or convenience stores — anywhere you've got high transaction counts, tight margins, weighed items, or EBT/WIC customers. It's built for the market checkout line, not a boutique.
Does it handle EBT, WIC, and weighed produce?
Yes — that's exactly what it's built for. OctoPOS accepts EBT, WIC, and pin debit, and can split a single order across EBT, WIC, and card. Integrated scales handle by-weight pricing for produce, meat, and bulk items right at the register.
Can I keep some of my current hardware?
Often yes. If your scanners, scales, or printers are compatible, we'll use what you have. If something's outdated or doesn't meet modern standards, we'll recommend the right replacement — and we never sell hardware you don't need.
Can I run dual pricing or cash discount?
Yes. We set up compliant dual pricing on the processing side so cash customers get a lower price and card fees are offset — a strong fit for tight-margin grocery and convenience. We handle the configuration, signage, and receipt setup.
Will you set it up and train my staff?
Yes. For local businesses, inventory setup, install, and staff training are done in person by our team — most stores are up and running within about a week, without disrupting business. Cashiers can typically be trained in around 30 minutes. After that, we stay reachable by phone, text, and email here in Tampa Bay.
How much does it cost, and is there a contract?
OctoPOS is priced based on your store — number of lanes and setup — and quoted upfront with no leasing tricks or hidden monthly fees. The software is separate from payment processing, which we price transparently to your business; see our pricing page for processing details. Free or discounted equipment may be available for qualifying merchants — ask on your demo.
How is this different from Clover?
Clover is a great general-purpose system. OctoPOS is grocery-first — scale-priced produce, EBT/WIC and mixed tender, DSD receiving, and real-time margin tracking are core to it, not add-ons. For a market, bodega, or high-volume convenience store, OctoPOS is usually the better fit. We'll tell you honestly which one suits your store.
